Warranty Policy

Effective Date: July 2026

Our Commitment to Quality

At Intru Technologies, we are committed to supplying genuine, reliable, and high-quality technology products sourced from reputable manufacturers and trusted suppliers. Many of the products we sell are covered by a manufacturer's warranty, supplier warranty, or a limited store warranty where applicable.

This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage available for products purchased from Intru Technologies, the warranty claim process, and the responsibilities of both the customer and Intru Technologies.

This policy should be read together with our Return, Exchange & Refund Policy and Terms & Conditions.

1. Warranty Coverage

Warranty coverage varies depending on:

  • Product category
  • Manufacturer
  • Supplier
  • Product condition (new or refurbished)
  • Warranty terms provided by the manufacturer

The applicable warranty period is displayed on the product page, quotation, invoice, receipt, or communicated before purchase.

Products may include:

  • Manufacturer Warranty
  • Supplier Warranty
  • Limited Intru Technologies Store Warranty

2. New Products

Most new products supplied by Intru Technologies are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials or workmanship under normal and intended use.

Warranty periods vary depending on the manufacturer and product category.

Examples include:

  • Laptops
  • Desktop Computers
  • Monitors
  • Printers
  • Networking Equipment
  • Computer Components
  • Storage Devices
  • Accessories

Where applicable, warranty service may be performed by the manufacturer, an authorized service centre, the supplier, or Intru Technologies.

3. Refurbished Products

Selected refurbished products supplied by Intru Technologies include a limited warranty unless otherwise stated.

The applicable warranty period for refurbished products will be clearly communicated before purchase.

Refurbished products are thoroughly inspected and tested before sale to help ensure they function as intended.

4. What the Warranty Covers

Subject to the applicable warranty terms, warranty coverage generally includes:

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Hardware faults occurring under normal use
  • Defective internal components
  • Factory workmanship defects
  • Product failures occurring during the warranty period that are not caused by customer misuse

Where a valid warranty claim is approved, Intru Technologies may, at its discretion:

  • Repair the product;
  • Replace the defective component;
  • Replace the product with the same model;
  • Provide an equivalent replacement where the original product is unavailable.

5. What the Warranty Does Not Cover

Unless otherwise required by law, warranty coverage does not include:

  • Physical damage
  • Cracked screens or broken casings
  • Liquid or moisture damage
  • Fire damage
  • Lightning strikes
  • Electrical surges
  • Power fluctuations
  • Improper installation
  • Misuse or abuse
  • Negligence
  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications
  • Missing serial numbers or tampered warranty seals
  • Damage caused by incompatible accessories
  • Cosmetic wear
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Theft or loss
  • Software installation or configuration
  • Viruses or malware
  • Forgotten passwords
  • Operating system corruption
  • Data recovery
  • Customer-created files or personal data

Consumable items such as batteries, printer cartridges, and other wear items are generally not covered unless they are confirmed to be defective at the time of delivery.

6. Warranty Claim Procedure

If you believe your product has developed a fault during the warranty period:

  1. Contact our Customer Support team.
  2. Provide your order number, invoice, or proof of purchase.
  3. Describe the problem in detail.
  4. Provide photographs or videos where appropriate.
  5. Follow the return instructions provided by our support team.
  6. Deliver or send the product for inspection if requested.

Warranty claims submitted without proof of purchase may not be accepted.

7. Product Inspection

All warranty claims are subject to technical inspection.

Our technicians or the manufacturer may examine the product to determine:

  • whether the reported fault exists;
  • whether the fault is covered under warranty;
  • whether the damage resulted from misuse, accidental damage, or unauthorized repair.

Inspection may require diagnostic testing before a warranty decision can be made.

8. Warranty Resolution

If your warranty claim is approved, we may:

  • repair the product;
  • replace defective components;
  • replace the product with the same model;
  • provide an equivalent replacement if the original model is unavailable.

The chosen remedy will depend on:

  • manufacturer recommendations;
  • availability of replacement parts;
  • product availability;
  • technical assessment.

Where a claim is declined because the issue is not covered, we may offer a repair quotation where repair services are available.

9. Repair Timeframes

Repair times vary depending on:

  • product type;
  • availability of replacement parts;
  • manufacturer procedures;
  • supplier response times.

While we aim to complete repairs as quickly as reasonably possible, repair completion dates cannot always be guaranteed.

Customers will be informed of significant delays where applicable.

10. Customer Responsibilities

To assist with warranty claims, customers should:

  • keep their invoice or receipt;
  • retain original packaging where practical;
  • avoid removing warranty stickers or serial numbers;
  • avoid unauthorized repairs;
  • use products according to the manufacturer's instructions;
  • report faults promptly during the warranty period.

11. Data Protection

Devices submitted for warranty service may require testing, software updates, or hardware replacement.

Customers are responsible for backing up all personal files before submitting devices for repair.

Although reasonable care is taken when handling customer devices, Intru Technologies is not responsible for the loss, corruption, or recovery of personal data stored on devices submitted for warranty service.

12. Limitation of Warranty

This Warranty Policy applies only to products purchased directly from Intru Technologies.

Warranty coverage is limited to the original purchaser unless otherwise stated.

This policy does not replace or limit any rights available under applicable consumer protection laws in Kenya.
